Online Thought Catalogue
We are currently re-branding our magazine to focus on a 'Thought Catalogue' platform. The goal: to give youth and innovators a platform to publish their writings (most likely academic) on IdeasXChange.org. We are seeking ambassadors to help spread the word on social media, post-secondary institutions, and in the community. We are also seeking two assistants to our Editor-In-Chief to assist in curating articles before publishing. You would receive guidance from our Editor-In-Chief who holds a degree in Journalism. Please identify whether you are interested in being an 1) Ambassador and/or 2) Assistant Editor-In-Chief.
Executive Director (transition gradually)
After an exhilarating two years (and counting), our Founder and Executive Director wants to pass on the keys of IDX to new folks and new ideas. If you are interested in this role, please fill out the application form and submit your CV. The suitable candidate will work closely with our E.D. to familiarize themselves with the internal procedures of IdeasXChange, meet UBC/external stakeholders, and assume the role by the end of the year. Start time can be flexible. The new E.D. must be able to commit for a minimum of one year (March 2018-April 2019). This is a fulfilling role with great opportunities for those seeking to enhance their leadership experience, learn hands on how to work in a startup environment, and for those wanting to make an impact. The duties of the ED mostly entail convening meetings with other directors, setting strategic direction with board, working with all directors to ensure goals are being met, and must have good interpersonal skills. This role however calls for pro-activeness and to address unforeseen challenges as they come up. The peak season is from October-March when most forums take place.
